By taking out Hospita Semi-Private (list) or Hospita Private (list), you have opted for hospitalisation insurance that offers comprehensive cover and attractive premiums. We are able to offer these preferential terms because you will be treated in one of our selected centres in the event of a hospital stay.

These are the points you agreed to when you signed your insurance contract:

• You can choose from the hospitals shown in the hospital directory at www.swica.ch/directories under the Hospita plan – Semi-Private list, level 3, or Private list, level 5 – that you purchased.
• You must inform your designated SWICA Customer Service 24/7 of the scheduled hospital stay 14 days in advance

With a SWICA private insurance plan, you have a free choice of doctor and hospital and you stay in a private ward. You also benefit from an exclusive single room within the private ward and short waiting times for scheduled operations.

In addition to private hospitalisation insurance, SWICA also offers a flexible private supplementary hospitalisation insurance plan with generous premium discounts. This allows you to choose your hospital and ward before any surgery, based on your specific needs, and gives you clarity in advance with regard to co-payments.

With a semi-private insurance plan, you have a free choice of doctor and hospital and you stay in a semi-private ward. You are also able to stay in a two-bed room. SWICA offers generous supplementary benefits for convalescence and medical spa treatment, and for home help and home nursing care. You also benefit from additional cover for the costs of emergency transport and transfers and of search and rescue operations.

Flexible semi-private supplementary hospitalisation insurance gives you additional flexibility and generous premium discounts, allowing you to choose between a general or semi-private ward before any surgery. When choosing the ward, you also benefit from clarity in advance with regard to co-payments.

A Swiss-wide general insurance plan gives you access to treatment in the general wards of SWICA contract hospitals throughout Switzerland. Without general supplementary hospitalisation insurance in place, if you have hospital treatment in other cantons you may incur additional costs that are not covered. With a general hospitalisation insurance plan, SWICA covers the full cost of treatment. Accordingly, you benefit from free access to all general wards of SWICA contract hospitals.
